Pray Ye Therefore the Lord of the Harvest

Pray You Therefore The Lord of The Harvest

We’re commanded according to Matthews 9:38 to pray you therefore the lord of the Harvest that he will send out Laborers into his Harvest. As Jesus ministered in the city and villages he saw a great need for laborers that would be needed in the Harvest. I believe He saw a lack of laborers and this is what moved him to say “pray to the Lord of the Harvest.”

OH, WHERE ARE YOU?

When we become intimate with the Harvest, it truly gives us great insight on how few laborers there are, which should move us as it moved Jesus to pray for the laborers. While you’re driving or going about your business in life today, do you see the laborers before you? Do they knock on your doors bringing you the Gospel of Jesus Christ? What has happened to us as the church with so little understanding about discipleship. Have we as the church abandoned the Harvest? Have we gotten comfortable inside the church where it’s warm and dry? Are we so lazy to where we won’t even pick up the fruit on the ground that has fallen from the trees?

THE LAZY CHURCH

God can’t be pleased with our laziness, lack of understanding or unwillingness to save Souls. This is always been a problem for the church. Because Jesus said “pray to the Lord of the Harvest” that he would send out the laborers. And today that very word is still alive and the church is the same. Have we become too carnal or too worldly that a commandment from God does not move us?

PLAY YOUR PART

I believe that we all play a role in the saving of the Souls. However, some of us play different parts. The Bible says there are different administrative gifts. This is the key to the success of the savings of souls. It is understanding ones part or gifts. When you find the part that you play,  you will find the grace of God on your life that He has given you.

As Jesus came to Earth to do his part, we were also sent here to play a major part.

Laborers with God

The Bible says that we are laborers with God 1 Corinthians 3:9, and that we must be willing to put our hand to the plow. Luke 9:62 “And Jesus said to him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” For those that who are truly called, it is their job and their duty to the Harvest. The Bible says in 1st Corinthians 3: 6 to 8

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

We, by far, should be able to outdo the enemy when it comes to the saving of Souls. We have God behind us and his full support. The Bible tell us that we are more than conquerors.
