I Was Blind But Now Do See the Harvest Lord

John 4:35

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Remove The Scales Lord

Seeing the Harvest of God is something that requires us to look at spiritually. We know that the scripture says in 1 corinthians 2:14 “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Over a process of time, God begins to remove the scales from our eyes, in order to reveal to us His purpose. Saul had this experience in Acts 9:18 “And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he receives sight forthwith, and arose and was baptized.“

There’s a beginning level of knowledge of saving souls in the harvest of God, over time our consciousness becomes greater in the deep things of God. Jesus also told us this in John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Compassion, Zeal, Insight

There are three things that are required before the harvest reveals itself. Great compassion, zeal, and insight. We know that the harvest is the lost souls. But, did you also know that some of the lost souls are the next generations of ministers?

The souls that you harvest today could be tomorrow’s great Prophets, Pastors, or Deacons to come. Looking at the Harvest should be like looking at a garden full of different vegetables. I learned over time that some of the newly converted souls require more maintenance than others.

Not all have the same desire to run after God at the same pace. Acts 13:22 “But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

Caretaker of The Harvest

This Harvest is in need of great caretakers and mentors. The caretakers understand that the newly converted Souls, will in time play their part that God has assigned to it. Ephesians 4:11 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

One of the Mysteries of God

The Harvest of God is a mystery itself. Much prayer, fasting, and meditation are needed to fully understand it. As in any Harvest, tools are needed as well as finances. Some farmers tend to 40 acres while some tend to 1000 acres. The anointing on your life will cover what God has for you. As we mature in the Lord we find that our coverage may be local, national, or international.

Just think, God has ordained certain days a particular lost soul to cross paths with you in order for you to bring them to the Lord. So be ready. The opportunity can present itself at any time in any place. PSALMS 37:23 “The footsteps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.“  2 Timothy 4-2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine

Perfect The Craft

I found that the more that I would submit to God and cry out to Him for understanding, the more He would use me in His Harvest. He gave me a great understanding in order to become a good Harvester. So, along the way, God will perfect one’s craft. When we do something for the Lord we should do it with the “spirit of excellence” and in return, God is pleased. Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Invest and Fellowship

As you invest in the tools that are needed for the Harvest, it is also wise to have fellow disciples that you can walk with and learn from and teach. If you are a Pastor, you can always start a soul-saving team in your ministry. As new souls are being saved they need to be taught the wisdom of soul-saving in order to save other souls themselves. This method should be a method in the Church. There’s an old saying, “sheep begat sheep.” The worst thing we could do is allow new souls to become comfortable and sit 20 to 30 years in the church and never save a soul.

About the Father’s Business

When you’re about the Father’s business, I believe that He’s even more about our business in a very unique way. I believe that this is the wisdom and favor that Jesus grew in Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” God loves to reward the laborers, Matthew 10:24 “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.” I can truly say that there are a lot of opportunities in the soul-saving department. Why? Because so many will not do it. The one thing that I did learn about Soul Saving is that you can get pretty creative. Somedays I would stand in front of the Family Dollar store with Christian tracks or just go for a casual walk. And other days I would make phone calls to friends and family members who needed to be saved. This very minute the harvest is left unattended. However, God just needs someone who will pick up the ripened fruit.

Hebrews 4:10

As you’re working the Harvest and putting all your might and effort into it, you will need to find a time that you can rest. Remember that all soldiers and laborers need to rest. Hebrews 4:10 “For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.” A word of wisdom; have a really good program for newly converted Souls to learn from.
