He That Winneth Souls is Wise.

Matthew 9:37

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

Proverbs 4:7

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

He That Saveth Souls is Wise

Proverbs chapter 4:7 declares that wisdom is the principal thing. Also, the Bible declares that if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God and He will give it. When contending with the savings of souls we will see that a level of wisdom is needed in order to be good fishermen of men. And if we lack that knowledge we can ask God to increase the level of our wisdom. The enemy operates at a very high level of wisdom in order to snare men for their souls. 2 Timothy 2:26And that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Pray For Strength

The first thing to realize in the savings of Souls is that we cannot do it in our own strength or Earthly wisdom. Full submission to God is critical in order to get everything that is needed. Critical. When contending for a soul, the battle that we face is “superior wisdom.” The Bible says that he that winneth Souls is wise. Here we see that the spirit of wisdom is the first, I think, we should check within ourselves, great wisdom is needed

Ask For Wisdom

In our daily walk with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we should always ask Him for wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. When we enter into the soul-saving part of our ministry, it’s important to understand that a soul can come to Christ at any time and not particularly on our schedule. At any time you can have a conversation with an individual who has not received Christ. Then, all of a sudden you are moved by the Holy Spirit to ask them, “can you receive Christ into your life today?” Sometimes the seed needs to be planted before you ask the question. We call this “seed sowing.”

I find that making it a commitment to study Proverbs every day has heightened my wisdom and understanding. You never know what lies ahead in the day. However, the wisdom in you will be ready for anything you encounter. 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Different Cultures

Remember that we are all different and come from different cultures. And, that cultures come with their own way of thinking. This is where God’s wisdom will be most helpful to you. Jesus said, ‘be wise as serpents.” He was giving a dark saying; a saying that is full of wisdom, meaning, and guidance. “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves.” Remember, he that winneth souls is wise.

You Are The Church

Remember that your body is the temple. You are the church and you operate under the laws of the kingdom of God. We often expect that souls are saved just in the church at the altar. I have experienced saving souls at Walmart in the men’s bathroom, sometime in the strangest places. At random times I am led to ask a person can they come to Jesus Christ and many have said “yes.” The strange part of this is that many of them were thinking beforehand of coming to Christ. This left them feeling a great sense of confirmation. We all love knowing that we’re heading in the right direction.

Love Starts at Home

You know the Bible says that “love begins at home and then we are to spread it abroad,” Timothy 5:8. You can always start with the savings of souls with loved ones, friends, and workmates. I promise you this one thing, you’ll never run out of souls to save because the Bible tells us that the road is wide to hell, Matthews 7:13 “Enter us in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there which go in there at.”

Better To ask Than Never Ask

It’s better to ask than to never ask. One thing about the lost souls is that they don’t realize that they are lost. Some can be completely oblivious to things that are spiritual. They will need your complete help in bringing them into the understanding of Jesus Christ. Great love, compassion, and patience are needed. Remember that the lost live for themself and we live for Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 3:2 “For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

A good word of wisdom would be to pray to the Lord of the Harvest before they encounter you. It’s also wise to keep the conversation very basic about Jesus Christ. Nothing heavy. Have a good secondary program to receive them as newcomers into the Gospel and honoring the Sabbath. Encourage them to come to bible study, worship, and other programs.
